Micah’s Backpack Program (MBP) welcomes volunteers to pack and deliver food on a weekly basis during the school year. Weekly packing takes place at St. Michael Lutheran Church, located at 2308 Merrimac Road in Blacksburg. Bags are packed every Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Teams of 6 to 8 volunteers will gather every other week to pack approximately 300 bags filled with nutritious food for students in our community who are experiencing food insecurity. Each Friday MBP volunteers will deliver in excess of 300 bags to 10 different schools. Volunteers may sign up to deliver bags between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm to our partner schools.
